Hey bulletman if Australia ever becomes a Republic we will lose The queens Birthday holiday.

I told a mate who is a pom he couldn`t have the Austrlia day holiday until he got citizenship.

yeah! the poms are reluctant to become aussie citizens. when we become a republic we won't lose a holiday but we will rename it Republic Day.

Have to confess I am not all for a change, not on Royalist grounds but the cost for no real benefit. We are going along OK and to have to change every legal document, coat of arms in many cases, the insignia for the military, repaint any and all military buildings and letter heads, to change all post office insignia. The mind just bogles at the Billions it would cost and what would we get, sweet FA.
President instead of Prime Minister. Besides the USA I can`t think of another Republic that is worth two bob. Leads to anarchy.

Nah if it is not broke don`t fix it.
