Is there such a thing as a "Happy Church"?

I love learning about God. But churches seem so extreme. Right now I go to the Church of God and it seems that no matter how hard I try I will never be good enough to go to Heaven. It depresses me. I feel like I always fall short. It is depressing. Is there a church that lives by the Ten Commandments but also believes that we are entitled to a happy life?

You will never be good enough to go to Heaven, but all you have to do is accept a free gift.
    John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Just say yes and mean it, tell others about your choice, then live it, and find a good BIBLE teaching Church. Read the BIBLE yourself and study.

There are allot of great churches in the USA, you just need to look for a good BIBLE teaching church. I could name a few I like but you may not like or be where you live. Because the church is not the building but the people and even christians can rub you the wrong way without knowing they are. Need to try a few churches,

a church is like a car you need to test drive a few before you buy.

    Good LUCK Love, Randy

Yes Jehovah's Witnesses are truely happy people. They are like a global family united with love. Jesus said in John 13:34 & 35, "I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves."

Their happy wile at your door, they feel they can get to heaven through their works.
    Romans 3:27
Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith.

Bobsgirl53...from begining to the end you will find that obedience to God's word is a prerequisite! whether be accepting by faith the gift of salvation given to us by God's Son. Now, accepting this give is your title to heaven! No matter how determine you are in surrending yourself to God (dying to self), and the Spirit producing the traits of God's Character in you, such will not garantee your acceptance in God's eyes. The biggest part is complete as you accepted by faith the gift. Now, by faith you allow the Good Lord produce the obedience God warrants of us. Visit Justifiedwalk.com. You will grow there! God Bless.

PS- Christ himself gives you a clue of His true church read Rev. 12.17. Am not saying that God's People can be in every church or religion! for in Rev. 18 He calls His people out of babylon!

I have been to many places of worship. I couldn't get out of the catholic church fast enough. A few others make me feel weird. I went to the Jehovah's witnesses and it was the most warmest feeling ever. Like you can't walk in the door without someone talking to you. They are the best and it's a mix, not all white, not all blacks, it's like God's mix. We all live on the same planet. Never asked for money. never felt weird. I knew I was home and haven't looked around after that.

....if God is there; that is all you need

....you get out of church what you put into church

Funny you should say that Ben.i was just today in the Notre Dame cathedral of Amiens..a gigantic place with statues of everything and everyone, but only one of Christ on the cross, and the whole place was built to enshrine the head of John the Baptiste..i wonder if John would be happy about that..??????.>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

....yes, he was one of the greatest men God created

Baptist and Assembly of God are wonderful Churches. They focus on a relationship with Jesus, forgiveness, and knowing that we are all sinners SAVED by grace. Good luck there is a lot of love out there.

Religon is based on a persons belief in it so there for if one is a church goer because they believe in their church's teachings thus I feel they are happy church goers so in my humble opinion the answer is YES

MY CHURCH IS HAPPY.I THINK ITS BECAUSE THEY KEEP IT SIMPLE. PRAISE,WORSHIP,LOVE.

all these churches which one to decide each one offering something better,or worse, a bit like a football team with one thing in common the ball they kick around, free yourself from the ten CON -mandments create a new thought process, reach the hero inside live for honesty, integrity, and a better world without religious bias, take away the power of this godly fear-mongering, by allowing the happy place inside of you to emerge. That is the "happy church" you seek .

You need to read your bible some more.>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

I really do not have a good answer for you except to read your bible learn and keep trying to find a church where you feel at home in. You will find one it is just harder now days, but if you are looking for the perfect church or perfect anything you will never find it because no one or not even the church (because people are not perfect).

you don't need a church, you just need to look inward. Spiritual enlightenment.. in africa, they have little churches and they have religious bonding experiences, they cry out together, laugh out loud together.. I think what you're looking for has nothing to do with the truth of your spirit, but feeling connected.. meditate, find yourself there, and find God in yourself too. Find out how everything is connected through you. You will feel less lonely. =] much love

Yes, I agree you really don't need a church, the reason for church is for friendship or fellowship, of people who are like minded as you. There are some really good (Happy) churches out there. Like stated above, you have to look for them. Any church will have their share of hypocrites, you just have to look past that and think positively. If you look at the bad, it's difficult to notice all the good.

Better still, are the people happy going to church?

Finding a church which has the qualities which are described above is fine. BUT the main thing is to find a church where the preacher is pointing you to Christ and focuses on Christ, and nothing else. Any sermonizing which focues on anything else is a false teaching. If you're unsure of not going astray, stay with the main stream protestant churche IMO such as Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist and avoid Jehovah's Witness and Mormon in particular. Remember some of the main stream churches have gone very liberal on social issues for instance,so you should ask first thing about that kind of belief.

Remember the purpose of a church is not to hold you accountable for your sin. That is Gods job. The purpose of the church is to provide a fellowship of believers which support, pray, intercede, and worship God together. Don't be so senstive about what people think of you . Only worry about what God thinks of you . That is the only thing which is important.

God Will Bless You Forever, he knows you love him.

Not quite that simple, see note at top of this link.

Hi Sweetie, I know what you mean, the "Happy Church" idea is brilliant in my eyes! But seeing there isn't one, the next best thing is befriending a person older than you that you can trust. Someone that is kind, sincere and really cares about you. Someone you can confide in and in return, you are making them feel special too. Be a good friend, a good listener and love and happiness will just come to you! Take Care of yourself and love your life!

The Mormons are always smiling about something (even though they get a lotta hate on Q&A)

Jehovah's Witness DON'T BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD. IT IS A CULT USED TO BE CALLED RUSSELITES. SORRY PAULA.

    Paula Paquette

Chett are you a Jehovah's Witness? Because I am. And Jehovah's Witnesses certainly do believe that Jesus is the Son of God. They are also the fastest growing religion on the earth today and they are not a cult. You have been misinformed. Some one has filled your head with false information. If you want to know what a Witness believes I suggest you ask a Witness. They are recognized in 250 countries as a legally established religion not a cult. This is public info. There are over 7 million witnesses earth wide. All of which declare their loyalty and love for our Savior and King Jesus Christ.
