    How should I ask for a salary increase from a new company for doing my current job?

    show/tell them how much you have made or saved for them. :-)
    Does your performance warrant a raise? If so point that out. If your there only a short time, tread lightly. They may think you obstinate.

    The company my wife works for recently announced a proposed cut in pay of 8%, her response was, she will not accept a decrease in salary. Personnel cut backs have her working 10 to 12 HRS a day now. Her position is such that she knows what the company makes per year, and they are profiting big time. Companies will use the economy as an excuse to get money from you. Greed at work.

    i would wait and try to find out if and when they are going to do reviews..........latley it has not been the squeky wheel that gets the grease......you might get the axe...
