how to lose weight that is caused by depression medication

My son has been diagnosed with clinical depression and the most bothersome aspect of his medication is weight gain. Can anything be done to counteract this side effect?

No, there are several anti-depression meds that cause weight gain among them is one that I remembered worked well Zyprexa but would make one gain weight and very rapidly. It might be he needs to talk with his doc about this problem and see what other meds he could take instead of the one he is on?
