Look for a date of manufacture and then check with the distributor. Make sure you talk with someone who is actually familiar with the product, rather than just a salesperson with no personal knowledge of the product. If you find such a peron, and there's a good likelyhood, you can also get some good tips on usage. Lots of factors like shortcuts or cross-contamination can really bung up the process. Many manufacturers describe the ideal of the product to look for, and many product conditions when you should discard it, e.g.; milky when it's supposed to be clear, or having a tendency to pour with clots already formed in it.
