    It's just handwriting, not spelling and reading. My sons, who are now in their 20's, were taught D'Nealian printing when they entered kindergarten. I started using it, too, because I wanted to be a good example for them. My handwriting especially my printing, is often complimented.
    The nicest thing about this form of printing is that it is easy to progress into cursive.
