In my neighborhood if you put something outside your house by the sidewalk with a "Take Me" sign on it, depending on what it is within a few hours or maybe overnight its gone.

OK…I’ve look these things over and I have had 4 of them here already. I take equipment like this apart, strip out the electrical components, which are shipped to the San Francisco bay area, and sold in Electronic flea markets there. The iron goes to recycled junk. I usually get a few bucks for my part.

The machine is for him, he”gave it to you” in the hope that you would let him keep it without penalty. So have him take it back to wherever he bought it and give you the money he paid for it to use as you please. There’s the gift.

Find a used exercise equipment store, they will usually buy them from you. 2nd Wind is one store that I am thinking of, if they are in your area.
