they are terrible to think about but they aren't bad. they give you good medicine so you don't even remember. you have to have them when the doctor says, "it's time."
the important thing about them is they save lives. colon cancer is not a good thing.
katie couric showed the xray of her colonoscopy on tv. her husband died of colon cancer.

I had a positive result from the test cards that I get from the Dr. each year at my physical, so I had to have my first (which I have put off for a very long time). I should really have been braver since my Mom had colon cancer the last 6 years of her life, the first tumor ruptured and metatasized. If she hadn't died from congestive heart failure the cancer would have gotten her in about six months. She had a very rough time of it those last years.

The test was not as bad as I had thought, the prep was though, lol! They found an odd flat shaped polyp which could turn cancerous, but in such a position that it could not be cautorized easily because the tissue is very thin. I have to go back again next year to see if it needs to be cauterized once again. At the very worst, that section of intestine will need to be removed. Hoping that is not a reality!

Yes, it is difficult to talk about and certainly to think about, but the alternative is much worse.
