Why wont the Feds pay back what they owe Social Security (1.2 Trillion dollars)

The Federal Government has borrowed over 1.2 Trillion dollars from the Social Security Trust and deposited IOU's. I want them to pay it back to Social Security and quit telling people that Social Security is Broke

Because this country is broke and the government can't afford to pay it back.

    1. they owe double that.2. social security has about 2.5 trillion dollars worth of u.s. t-bills and bonds as collateral. if they were all redeemed today, we would bankrupt the government.
