Does anyone know who Jonas Salk was and what he did for free for the world, would anyone do the same thing in this day and age?

When news of the vaccine's success was made public on April 12, 1955, Salk was hailed as a "miracle worker", and the day "almost became a national holiday." His sole focus had been to develop a safe and effective vaccine as rapidly as possible, with no interest in personal profit. When he was asked in a televised interview who owned the patent to the vaccine, Salk replied: "There is no patent. Could you patent the sun?"

Amazing the generosity of this famous doctor, he could have been a millionaire, but gave the vaccine away for free.
I believe you mean the reward, or attention from?

God, if no one knew that would be o.k. with me I don't like all the attention anyway. Not to mention I've never taken compliments to well. When God gives you your reward it will be in heaven, where moth, dust, or rust doesn't corrupt.

If you get your reward from man, you may have fame and money, but none of this lasts forever.
Man approval is like dust in the wind, here today, gone tomorrow. Gods approval and acceptance is eternal. Where would you prefer to invest? God invests in us by leading you to these treasures of awareness and discovery. If you are in a position to accept that understanding and do what is needed to bring it to the forefront as a remedy then do so. If you can use it yourself then do so. You can share it with others. God gives us gifts like that and God knows what you should do with it. So ask God what you should do with it.
Being asked by God to present a great truth to advance human kind often has the potential for severe penalties imposed by man. Doctor Martin Luther King understood this and in my opinion choose wisely dispute the cost to himself. Unlike Dr King I understand and learned from Dr.King that very often, placing yourself in the forefront is not always necessary to get the desired result. This lesson goes back to Christ as well. What result are you after? How would the idea that you would like to develop benefit humanity and would it cost you? The problem is complex and calls for careful consideration…are YOU a necessary part of the dissemination of the idea. Like I said the issues are challenging. I’m fortunate to be alive but have no reputation. It wasn’t necessary for me to receive the Nobel Prize in Physics or I would most likely be dead.

Does this mean you seek the approval of your god robertgrist? If this is the case why did you not answer the question "The approval/appraisal of god" without all the gobllygook?
I'm not sure what you mean either, but from what i understand, it is god that gave that man the knowledge to find that cure, so i'd thank god first , then thank the man :)
I'm not sure what you're asking. Did you mean appraisal of God or do you mean approval of God?

Most people prefer the applause of men, than rather doing what GOD ask of you.
I think man's approval is god's approval too. YOu see, God will judge you too upon what others feel about you. if you made people like you for what you did, then you made someone happy, god loves sharing and happiness of mankind.
