Actually I've seen pickled sausage in the store, in the big jars, with the red vinegary smelling liquid inside. I believe there is also pickled pigs feet that some people buy. Maybe you should do a google search to find the recipe.? Good luck little tree...

Now that you mention it leeroy, yes I guess you can pickle meat.
I don't think it's commonly know, the only places I've seen those products are usually in the ethnic section at the grocery store, or Costco as well as small convenience stores.
The Ice cream trucks use to carry them sometimes when I was a kid, I think the brand name was Uncle John's???
