I would like instruction on how to dismantle a kitchen fawcet - similar to diagram of model Legend 7300, in order to install a new cartridge. This fawcet could be over fifty years old, new when I bought this house. The advice I have had at my hardware store and at Moen technical by phone is wrong. I do not have a phillips head bolt to unscrew. Under the top cap in the circular opening I have a copper washer held in place by two very small flanges and below that what may be a brass nut fastened

to an inverted threaded stem. I need to remove all or part of the chrome casing in order to get any further. How can I do this?

We are not a company dealing with faucets. We are a general questions and answers site. You may not get immediate help here. You can only hope a volunteer is around that might know something about old faucets.
