    Cause that's where baked beans were invented. That's also where the tea ended up in the harbor. It had the busiest harbor and was the first large city in Massachusetts.

    cause of its central location in the bay state .. it had the deepest channels as well as harbors, making it the most logical port for the early shipping industries... that and the boston red sox didn't want to move to n.y.
    It is the port city causing to to be heavily populated.
