We have a miniser who is very controlling over our congregation. I want to sue him and some of the men in the congregation for allowing this. He has given me a letter stating that I can no longer teach a bible class because of my refusal to sign a letter. Please advise

This is a case about freedom of speech and I feel my civil rights
    have been violated

If you are in the USA, I believe within the church, they can do what they want. We have separation of church and state here meaning the US government can not control the rules and laws the church makes for it's people. You will need to go to your area church's leader, whoever is boss of your minister. I'm not religious so I lack the terminology of what each church leader is called.
not sure i can help but i can point you in the right direction

Tell him where to get off and start your own church. Start it right next door to his. Don't sign anything. Why do you want to throw your money away on a fool?
In Australia the same applies as Colleen stated. The seperation of power prevents a church being disciplined by the pollies.
Another example of "We know it all Christians(?)"
It sounds like you need a different church, not a law suit. It is turning into a cult.
