    On a personal level, I would say no. But, if there's a company policy prohibiting it, he's violated the terms of his employment and it's indicative of a tendency to not follow company policy. If that's the case, he could at least be given a warning, or wrote-up with the warning not to do it again, or face dismissal.
    I agree with the bad wages as suggested, but if a company policy says you can't then he should have said "thanks but no thanks" explained why and told the lady to have a good day then walk off.
    Not for the paltry wages HD pays.
