We live in a democratic country, we elect government and councils. Could you please tell me why they both are either controlled by ceo"s, how can this be democratic. They are supposed to be elected by the people for the people.

One day the all Americans will see what you are saying and you are correct.
The people we elect makes us all promises until they get into office, once they are their they are no longer for the people they become fighter for the corporations and blood suckers to us, 75% of the American people are becoming sick and tired of this, they know they are being taken advantage of.
Some people out their, the other 25 % tries to argue by comparing the US government to the worst Governments around the world and they are trying to poof a point that we are much better off than them, What they are forgetting is our country is setting the example for the rest of the world and they are watching us, the whole world is watching what we do and how we do it so they can fellow, with the good and bad things. Our government try’s to tell the world that Americans are not controlled by government. The only difference is and will be, other country governments do it in the open We do it behind closed doors and our government try’s to fool us and brain wash us, other governments takes advantage of the people in their face.
I wish we can all send a message to every part of our government by voting all lawyers out of public office at election time.
We do not need lawyers representing them self and the corporations by saying it is us they are representing.
Australia is NOT a republic but the same thing happens here. Quite often the first thing voted on is a pay rise for themselves but fortunately they are slowly getting the message.
The local Sunshine Coast Regional Council where I live could not run a chook raffle down at the pub. One prime example was a drainage problem for storm water into the local lake. Against the advise of their own engineers they have now had three attempts at thousands of dollars cost and still not fixed.
The classic was the removal of sand, that was starting to block the drain, a few day before the highest King tides of the year. Could not have timed it better for the sand that was removed and dumped a few hundred yards away to be re positioned where it came from.
money, money, greed ,greed, hungry for power.......with money they can buy power and just about anything else...............
I think you just answered your own question.
Our government is a republic. We elect officials to office to pass a bill and have it signed into law. We are a Republic. The problem is simple. We elect people who take money and vote the money into law ignoring we the people.
