go to an otolyrangologist---which means an ENT ---- an ear, nose, and throat doctor. After some testing, he'll tell you what your hearing prob is all about, and where to get a hearing aid. Around this area, we go to the U of Michigan hospital clinics .
Do you have a Cochlear implant?? I can't imagine if that's the case that you cannot contact the surgeon who put it in.

Misread your question..I'm familiar with Cochlear implantsI thought I had read that but not so it was impairments) mycatsmom has the best answer...if you can't afford the ENT...go to a county hospital in your area if you are in the US of A for answers. County hospitals have to treat/help folks unlike any other type of hospitals here in the USA.
