      None of the spinach I have ever grown climbs (anywhere). It does get rather tall if you do not pinch it back when young, which is when it is tender and tastes the best. If you let it grow too tall the taste isn't as good and the leaves are tougher.

        Oh, were talking about real spinach, never mind..... I do like spinach though it may be from watching all the Popeye cartoon's when I was a kid.
