Florida has changed it's building code requirements, new construction is now cement block walls.
it seems like it always trailer park homes , i guess tornados dont discriminate
Can you guess which state has never had a reported tornado. Sorry , but every state including alaska and hawaii has had tornadoes , and will always have.
They are built out of wood because the folks who are building them cannot afford sturdier, safer structures.

A popular system today is to use what they call "Superior Walls". Prefabricated cement, much stronger and priced about the same as wood. I'm amazed that people continue to rebuild rather than move.

H-m-m-m never heard of this..very interesting...an yes quite worth the amazement...may be the newer structures will utilize this!
I dont remember when was the last time New York got hit by a tornado, or California or Illinois.
