Evaporative Air Canister or Control. It is part of your emission system - basically the car is no longer capturing gasoline fumes and they are venting into the air instead of being collected and eventually burned by the engine when running. A common problem that means you are polluting the air more than the car was designed to do. Get it fixed for the environment, or to pass inspection if you have one.
