    why do i gain weight when i workout and eat healthy and lose weight when i don't work out and eat healthy?

    i can eat the same amount if not less when i work out and gain about 2-3lbs a week. muscle mass weighs more? so is being muscular not healthy? i don't get it.

    Yes muscle does weigh more, and therefore you will often gain weight from working out. Being overly muscular isn't always healthy, however being obese from saturated fats is even less healthier. You can work with a certified physical trainer who will help you with a good program that will help you get toned properly.
