The way I cross stitch is I guess maybe free-lance sort of? Anyway I use the blank canvas and I have several cross stitch pattrern books to go by. I have learned in making the x's that if I use 3 strands of cross stitch thread that way it looks nice and fills out and I do not have to make each x but one time and move on to the next. It is not that hard to do but it does take careful concentration and counting your x's for the color in the pattern and such. I have always found it theraputic in a way and always liked watching making a blank canvas turn into a nice picture.
