No man or woman on this earth knows or will know the exact day. God knows and in His perfect timing it will happen. It probably won't be the same day some goofball is advertising it will be.

I think once you see actual war in or near Israel, that will be a sign that it will be coming very soon. Especially if the Jews build a temple in Israel, that is one of the few prophecies left that need to occur (possibly) before the rapture. The tricky thing is it can be built after the rapture as well, so like Randy said the best thing to do is be prepared.
