My Rheumatologist put me on a medication called Neurontin for nerve pain....it has been working pretty well so far. I also had a lumbar steroidal injection about a month ago and that helped even more although that is unfortunately wearing off already. Good luck...pain sucks! (:

There are plenty of good pain pills for nerve pain check with your doctor.
