If Germany defeated the Soviet Union then it would have been in 1941 or 42 when the US had barely began it's nuclear bomb program.Germany with the resources of Russia and the Middle East which would have been easy pickings would become a superpower way beyond America. With Britain out of the war the US wouldnt have the knowledge of radar, jet engines, penicilin or be able to read the Enigma Code. What could the US do send B-17's across the Atlantic??,D-day from 2000 miles away Europe isnt Okinawa !!.The US may have made the first bomb but Japan was crippled and broken the bomb finished them off it'd be different using it against a powerful enemy n how do you deliver it.Germany was 6 months from the bomb in 1945 plus was designing a V2 to strike america after years of intense bombing. If they had the time, resources and werent locked in a death struggle with Russia it's likely they'd hit America first.

BUT BY 1945 AMERICAN WAR PRODUCTION PASSED THE REST OF THE WORLD PUT TOGETHER SURELY THEY HAD A FIGHTING CHANCE IF NO DOES THIS JUSTIFY THE STRIKE FIRST POLICY IN IRAQ GERMANY LAUNCHED A BLITZKREIG IN EUROPE JAPAN LAUNCHED ABLITZKREIG HALF WAY ACROSS THE WORLD AMERICA THOUGHT IT COULD FIGHT TO THE LAST ENGLISHMAN WE THOUGHT WE COULD FIGHT TO THE LAST AMERICAN [AUSSIES]

This is a very contentious question. The US did not join the war until they were attacked. At a time I might add when they were having peace talks with Japan. This was when the USSR was on its` knees and to suggest that the US were responsible for saving them is insulting to every dead allied soldier. The US did a fantastic job in the supply of equipment but don`t come on here and belittle the thousands of allied dead. I would expect an apology from you and action by the Administrators. If you feel you have hit a raw nerve then you are absolutely correct.

you are right allied soldiers who gave their lives in the pacific in the battle of Manilla second only to the battle of Stalingrad ,should be honoured equally to those who fought in Europe the battle of Manilla was the second most ferocious ever fought.

i agree wholeheartedly again, PEOPLELOVER. you said it all for me.
I have the greatest respect for the US of A and all it stands for but as Peoplelover said, the American contribution to WW2 in Europe was a little belated, albeit a great help, but a little belated so Radar's question is a bit out of context with what happened.
Lets just say the German's were defeated by the huge effort of everyone on the 'Winning' side and may the many that died for that effort Rest in Peace knowing it couldn't have been done without their sacrifice.

every Australian soldier who fought the Germans and the Japanese Rated the Japs higher (9th div Borneo. 7th div Solomon Islands.)how much do you really know peoplelover?
    PEOPLELOVER

Radar I am at a total loss to understand your question "how much do you know people lover" have you addressed remarks meant for someone else to me in error?
I made no reference to the ability of German or Japanese forces in my comments so why the comment.
I do know the Japanese would fight to the bitter end as to do anything else was a insult to the Emperior.
I had a brother in the Australian army in New Guinea. My father was in France in WW1 and served again in WW2. I had a brother in Darwin during the bombing and I served over six years in the Australian Artillery.
Not exactly lacking in hands on experience.
