Assuming you have 12 volt batteries (4), they would be hooked in series: Negative terminal of first battery to positive terminal of second battery: Negative terminal of second battery to positive terminal of third battery: Negative terminal of third battery to positive terminal of fourth battery: Negative terminal of fourth battery to ground (assuming it is a negative grounded system): Positive terminal of first battery goes to the positive point of the system:
