I am struggling to keep my child wearing a helmet due to his misshapen head. He wore it nicely for several weeks and we saw nice improvement. Now he became smart and knows how to take it off and he refuses to wear it. Is there any help or do I just need to quit?

I thought akaqa answers intelligently to different questions. Knowing that I am the parent is not going to solve the problem I am now facing. I know that I am the parent and I want to help my child. The question is if there is any help out there. I.e. a different type of helmet with tighter closure. Please don't post answers that don't make sense. Time is too valuable.

I'm sure you could just put a small lock assembly on the plastic clamp. If not you can search for specialized helmets.
Here's what I found, hope this helps?

This is a nice response but was not really pertaining to what I asked. To set expectations and enforce with discipline is a very healthy and effective method in parenting. However, I am now dealing with a 13 month old and struggling to work on his head shape which could bother him later on if I don't treat it now. This is not a medical issue. His head is 9 cm off one side from the other and I was told that wearing the helmet consistently will change this difference.

YOU are the parent (not your child) and you need to decide on having there be consequences for the child if he does not do what you want.
I refrained from saying more because I am not sure myself how a funny shaped head requires protective headgear. You did not share. You shared nothing about the age of your child either.
I stand by my comment. There are no tricks to parenting. Set what is expected and if it not done use discipline to insure that it is.
