    Is it safe to fly to Japan for vacation or for trekking?

    Not near Sendai. I would avoid parts north of Tokyo, and I seriously doubt we are hearing just how serious it really is.

    i agree with ninnet 100%. our american journalists left for safety reasons a long time ago. i don't know what the situation is now because it's not the top of the news. i've heard that you can find information but you have to dig for it. i think of japan every day and i wonder.
