      Mutations happen, it's called eugenics.. at some point us 'white folks' lost pigmentation in our skin and that's why our skin is whiter. Albino people have no pigmentation in their skin. It affects the color and protection from the sun. :] Where you live is only part of the evolution.

        Do they what about the people who live in polar regions isn't their skin dark. Sorry if this sounds abit thick and answering a question with a question.

          Usually people from below the equator usually live close to the equator making it hot there. Just like in the summer you get darker, well in those places it's summer all year.
