What, may I ask, is a "domain mame"? How does it differ from an email address? And why would I pay up to $100 per year to have one when my current email address is free?

A "domain name" is a web address that you can get for a lot less than $100 a year, more likely for a business or non profit organization.

A Domain name is a string of words that identifies a website. An email address is mainly used to send and receive emails and is used for contact purpose. You need to pay for a domain name because you own it and it is given to you by a registrar...once you get the domain name no one else is allowed to get the domain name and it is specifically for the person who owns it...actually I am not aware of spending $100 per year for a domain name.Domain registrars like 9cubehosting.com offer domain name at low cost.
