Wrong. Meteoroids as stated below are small in size. You are both getting confused with Asteoriods.

No. Thousands hit the Earth on a daily basis and most are the size of a grain of sand and burn up on entering the Earth's atmosphere. Slightly lager ones the size of small to medium stones do fall to earth but rarely cause major damage. One could actually fall in your back garden and you would not know.

Incidentally, an object that collides with earth is known as a Meteorite. The majority of meteorites are small dust or rock particles. Still, evidence of huge rock formations is thought to have created anomalies such as the Grand Canyon. Science suggest that a large meteorite hit earth resulting in the creation of a vast dust cloud, killing all breathing animals including Dinosaurs.
"A meteoroid can be an object from the size of a grain of sand to the bulk of a boulder that is traveling in space. There are several official definitions of what is a meteoroid . They all differ based on the largest objects to be included in the group. If a meteoroid enters the atmosphere of Earth or any other body the visible trail that it leaves is called a meteor. Once it impacts the surface it is called a meteorite. These are commonly called shooting stars."
