    The fair tax?

    I have checked into the "fair tax". It scares me. 23%!!! I am alone and cannot afford to pay anymore on what I buy. I don't make up to the poverty level now. What about property tax, and other hidden taxes that states impose? Would the local sales tax go away? No one has addressed these questions yet.

        I live in Illinois. Google "fair tax" and you will see some videos about it. Scares the crap out of me to think about such a large sales tax! I don't believe any other tax would "go away".
