    How do I convert a PDF file into a Word Document to enable me to be able to add further text

    You cannot modify a PDF file, because they were specifically designed to not let that happen. It is supposed to be a "final" document so that no one (malicious intent or not), can do what you are attempting. You will have to create a new one. This should be easy - just highlight and copy the old document (or just the part you want), and place it in a new document (MS word or whatever you are using). You can then add what you need, save it, and create your own new file - and even make that new one a PDF - as long as you have Adobe PDF software. You probably do and if not I think it is free; just hit print and there should be an option of creating a PDF in the print menu.
