I have never seen an application where a p-trap is necessary, since you do not have to block any sewer line connections. Just make sure it drains freely with no blockages and minimum pooling to a working drain and you should be all set. If it does not freely drain it will build up in the A-coil tray, reducing efficiency, making a mess, and potentially causing other problems.
Just get the right length of tubing - or even use an old garden hose - and run it all "downhill" without kinks or blockages - to your drain. Hope that helps.
