Well, then they'll have to make you a new cheque. You have already fulfilled your obligations with the company - you have worked for a certain period of time - so now it is their turn to stick to their obligations with you, one of which is paying you on time.
I don't know where you live, so I have no idea about your legal situation and whether there are any institutions working on behalf of employees' rights. But if your employer doesn't solve the problem soon, you should go with your work contract and seek legal advice. I am sure there must be some lines about salary policies in your contract.
