Check with the state the corporation (or whatever the entity is filed as) is based or incorporated in. Also, Federal websites may help, since EIN is usually noted as a "FEIN," or a FEDERAL tax ID number. Anyone doing business (except possibly individuals) should have one in order to conduct business/pay taxes, etc., and it should be trackable and verifiable.
