If the tumor is at base of large intestine and appendix, why the long wait to biopsy beofre surgery? Can't surgery be done to remove tumor and treat according to result of surgery?

It is probably hung up at the insurance company. Complain to both your doc and the insurance company.
They want to know if it is cancerous, and maybe have to do more surgery.
I understand that, but why the long wait after telling patient about tumor, then the three month wait for biopsy, then another wait to remove it? It has to come out anyway, benign or not. Is there a way to fastrack this possible 4-6 month wait?
