I have fond MEMORIES of my Commodore 64.

On a more serious note: Are you speaking of RAM? RAM is random access memory which is used to temporarily store data which you are working with. When you turn the computer off, it goes away.
Computer memory refers to devices that are used to store data or programs (sequences of instructions) on a temporary or permanent basis for use in an electronic digital computer.
