I want to make a copy of a wedding photograph taken 75 years ago...is this a problem

I was once told that if a photograph has the name of the photographer on it, then it cannot be copied for copyright reasons...does this apply to something so old?

You can copy it for personal use. Copyright just protects the artist so you can't make money off his work. You can make as many copies as you want for yourself with no intent to sell.

Another five years and the copyright will expire.
My parents gave me an album of the wedding pictures from 1943. All of them had the local photographers name on the bottom and they were able to get them copied for my personal use.
