I'm not Catholic, and I think the sign is the least of there problems.
There are many good Catholic Christians but a lot of their traditions are not Biblical.
When Catholics do the Sign of the Cross, most significantly, they reaffirms the belief of the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The act implies a lot more meanings though.
in catholigy christ on the cross represent him dieing for us aka "crucifix"! while a "cross" reresents he has risen and is no longer on the cross!!
Randy, I am Catholic. To me, Catholicism is the most biblical and authentic religious practice of all.
Of course you don't agree with me, you have different views. No problem.
sign of the cross is Christian, how you manually do the cross depends on your respective religion.
