money orders are used practically everywhere and anywhere. Yes, i believe u can use a mo to pay for gas as long as it's not been written on yet and you have the little end stubbie piece. Money orders are like checks except that the cash was already put on it, unlike a ckg acct. where a persoon doesn't know if money is in the acct. or not when they receive a ck. If you're traveling, it's best if you get travelers cks for that though. Hope this helps
