      The area is pi * radius squared.
      3.142 x 8 x 8 is 201.1 sq inches.

        PEOPLELOVER

        Should let them do their own home work especialy when you come up with a square inches answer (in your wording) for a lineal question. A simple formula and let them do the work would be more helpful. Your numbers are correct but Square inches for a diameter? Square inches would be the area and require a different fomula. Actualy the diameter would be 201.142 to the third power. Cheers.
