all i can say is that my organ donor card is signed, if someone can use my organs in anyway then i hope it helps someone somewhere. As for you Ed Shank, all major religions in the United States believe in organ donation.

what most people dont realize is that your organs die within a very short time, if they are not harvested and put on ice and transported to an organ conatiner facilty within hours then the organ dies and is then used at some university or college for research purposes. So go ahead and sign your organ donor card but be warned that unless you die near a hospital and an organ facility then your organs will end up on some students desk. A very small percentage ever get to help someone.

Actually, this is what I thought it was for in the first place, research.. However, of course if you happen to fall dead at nearly or within reasonable time and proximity then I think your organ just might be a lifesaver, assuming all the parts are interchangeable.. i agree with you..
