the term 420 origanates at san rafel HIGH school in 1971 among a group of about a dozen pot smoking wise acres who call them selves "waldos" 420 was a code among them thats its time to smoke pot'word of mouth made it wildly popular throughout the early 80s now with the help of the internet its a common term
