POLL: How many people would compromise on passing legislation to Allow gay marriage to be called,"Civil Union Marriage?"

I think as long as the gays have the same rights as a marriage, it would be a descent compromise. I think the problem with this debate is that as a Christian we consider marriage to be a spiritual union. The Gay people just want to be treated as equals in a marriage contract.

SO why not compromise and give them the same exact rights, with just a slightly different name, Civil Union Marriage. What do you all think?

    Sure why not?
    I'd be happy with that.
    sounds good to me
TU for you leeroy (as if you need it!) :o)
Not I no matter how they worded it.
So my answer would be yes, that would be a very nice change :)
LOl, i'm pretty much laughing a lot right now, but no worries. Um, where to begin, sorry i'm just a bit confused right now, i thought christians would disagree with gay marriage :S doesn't it say it's a sin in the bible or have i been misinformed?. i'm not been against it or anything, i actually don't care who's gay or who's lesbian. so why does a christian who thinks homosexuality is a sin would promote gay marriage. please don't take any offends :) . just trying to straighten out facts that make us who we are in this world. :] i love all by the way and hate non, also have gay friends as well who i like and would want them to be happy :)

    Im not a Christian
I don't know about you, but I've seen how passionate some gay or lesbians are about being able to get married, I just think if they want it so badly, why note compromise? As a Christian, I have always assumed that Marriage meant vows in front of God and friends, and many Christians think that the word marriage is a Religious word, so this seems to be a good answer to both sides of the argument?

i never said anything about been against it :(

i just asked a question relating it to christians :)

I understood, maybe it's the way I worded it that made you think I was referring to you, I was just trying to clarify the reasoning behind the thought.
    Im voting yes. :)
ok thats a start i think most would see that as expectable
Just call them marriage vows taken together. Civil union if fine. You could also just change the word "marriage" to "garriage". Let everyone find someone to love, as long as it's not a child, but grown-ups (meaning legal age, etc.). God doesn't make mistakes, so I guess we need to accept if we end up with a gay child or a child with some other sort of special situation. Life is hard enough already. I have done a complete 180 degree turn on this. Just talk to a couple who want to be united in marriage, and it will usually change your view on this matter. We all try to be happy, and to find someone who loves and understands us, and stands by us. It is just life!

Really? LOL...would you like to get garriaged? No, that will never do.

I'm glad you've changed your perspective on love. Sounds like your seeing people outside of their bedrooms and understanding that all people, no matter their sexuality, all have the ability to love intensely and with great depth. :)
