I do not know what this program is sorry i do not know the answer to your question but I am 58 would like to find out about this affordable home program myself since I am single 58 and only on salary?

The home affordable program was established to help people who can no longer pay their mortgage at the level it is at. If you qualify, it can reduce your mortgage to no more than 30% of your income.

There are other programs as well for the unemployed, and also a forbearance program that will allow a person to skip a few payments if they are expecting a large sum of money in the near future, such as from an insurance company. Contact a HUD counselor for help in setting up one of these programs.
