Can the Federal Government put a ceiling to Gasoline Prices?

In other words could it say Gas will not be more than $3.00 a gallon for 1 year to help in the economic recovery?

they cant do it with their own budget, how on earth could they do this . as long as theres fuel for air force one obama dont care

Actually they can, I was in CA in 2008 and Mexico's government did exactly that. They kept the price of gas at around $3.28 a gallon, while it was over four dollars in the U.S., the truth is they won't.

There were so many American's going down to T.J. that they had to start limiting the amount gas purchased per customer to 8 gallons.

why can people leave there monster truck,gas burning stupid machine
and tried to think of other people needs instead of their greed then everybody good breadth fresh air,live a healthy environment,without noise,and accident,today people think their the only one smart to have all these toy.Why don't they grow up,my believe is there brain stop functioning just like a kid whit a new toy???

NO,NO,NO why is the first reaction to these issues the Federal Gov. Don't you understand when the Federal Gov. tries to intervene they have to create an artificial market that controls the the supply and demand and the result is an inferier product. You need more supply (competition) in the market no control on a limited supply. Why do you want a ceiling on gas but not on our dept limit?
