    car will crank but won't start

    I have a 1983 380sl mercedes benz. It has set up for a 6 month period. Replaced the battery, car will crank but won't start? and suggestions?

      try spraying some starting fluid in the carb,crank it, if it starts then stalls, chances are a fuel problem, if nothing happens, then its probly a spark problem.good luck.

            Probably has something to do with the fuel since the car sat for a while. Gas and Diesel both have a tendancey to go bad if left to sit for long periods of time. I would check and see in the engine is getting fuel.
