    Sounds like homework but I'll give you the answer anyway. 16oz=1lb.
    Unless you're a chiseler and you're talking gold, a Chiseler would 'chisel' off a few grams of the gold for himself making an ounce a bit less.. still called an ounce though.. BTW: a 2X4 isn't a 2X4 anymore either..
    16 ounces to the pound always has been always will be I guess.
