Why do EGR and DPF problems happen on the 6.7 Cummins?
EGR and DPF systems are designed to reduce emissions, but they rely on high exhaust temperatures to work properly. If the truck is driven mostly in the city or on short runs, the exhaust may not get hot enough to burn off soot. This leads to carbon buildup, frequent regenerations, warning lights, and reduced performance over time.
